Had a great visit with the boys last night. The park+Mike & Ikes+potato chips=fun.
Spence was in a "running away" mood and so we decided to walk around the lake...look at the geese...watch the ripples on the water. Sounds idyllic doesn't it?
Our focus was interrupted by Spencer's shoe flying past Guy's ear into the lake.
This boy has a history of shoe tossing. He thinks it is hilarious to throw them out of school bus windows. And not just shoes. He has tossed books, toys, food, blankets, paper and any other number of things. The roads and interstates of rural Nevada and California are dotted with this little man's debris. I think he just loves parabolas. He is an aerospace engineer at heart.
Fortunately it was a water shoe designed to float. It stayed on the surface just out of reach of the palm fronds Guy was using to snag the shoe.
A lovely man with a fishing pole saved the day. He kept casting his hook and slowly pulling the shoe to shore.
The rest of the walk was great and Spence only tried taking the shoe off four more times. The ripples on the lake were just too tempting.
It was a better ending than our trip three years ago. He floated his Crocs down the creek that day!
One minute they were there.....
The next minute they were gone!
