while driving the kids to high school this morning.....

one girl asked my son...."don't you WANT a cell phone"??


"heck no"!...." why would I want to be checking a phone every two minutes to see who is texting me"?

Now, just for the record. I think that cell phones are a necessary evil. Texting is destroying the English language and dumbing down human relationships even faster than all of John Hughes's movies combined.

My son will eventually get a cell phone but we are delaying it until the very last possible moment. Until then, my plan is to encourage him to have as many spoken conversations and human interaction as possible in order to preserve the universe.
