mine.....

We had a new word fall out of Tyler's mouth two weeks ago. The word...."mine".

It was used in context AND with the appropriate timing. Guy was teasing Tyler by pretending to take some of his cookies that we had given him.

Ty saw the hand reaching out, quickly ducked his shoulder to block the effort and said, in his emerging baritone, "mine".

We just about fell off our seats. And then proceeded to ask each other, as we always do, "did you hear that"??????

Amazing.

Have we heard it since? no. Have we tried to get him to say it again by torturing him with feigned robbery, yes.

So the moment came and left. And the suspicion that he never would have learned that word were he not to be living with his bully of a brother has been justified.
