We ventured out on Saturday to the beach. DJ had a playdate at the movies with some friends so we were just four.
Having quite the catalog of potential things that could go wrong in my mind, we chose a well equipped beach...Corona del Mar. On a scale of 1-10...I would give it a 9. Great facilities...not too big and not too small. The parking is $15 but that and high gas prices seemed to keep attendance at a reasonable level. And because we stayed there for over 5 hours, it was a bargain.
Armed with 2 chairs, (not enough), umbrella with rubber mallet to drive it into the sand, (essential), sunscreen and snacks, it looked like we were set.
Without a doubt it was infinitely a better beach trip than those of the past. The boys went for a walk first.....
and then Spence settled down to devour an entire bag of Salt and Vinegar potato chips. I think it took him an hour and a half.
Ty enjoyed watching some boys digging a collapsing hole in the sand and some girls boogie boarding.
Great...Great day. We will definitely be test driving more beaches and rating them according to compatibility with our special needs.
