My oldest is a Potter fan and last night was the big night. I dropped he and his buddy from school off at the theatre in the afternoon with some camp chairs and card games.
It was hilarious to see that HUGE crowd camped out in a giant Slytherin-esqe snake of humanity.
There were Dumbledores and Gryffindores running around having a great time.
I fulfilled my duty as responsible parent and brought them some In-N-Out for dinner.
Guy showed up at about 10. If I was nervous at all about leaving two almost 15 year olds on a sidewalk for 8 hours, it didn't last long. Plus, it turns out that the people standing in line next to him were family acquaintances. None other than our friendly, neighborhood agent from Child Protective Services!
This guy made frequent trips out to our house when we moved to our new home four years ago. Our paranoid/annoyed/frightened/disability-phobic neighbors had him on speed dial for a while. We all got to know each other really well. He is such a nice guy and very sympathetic to our situation. It was nice to get his reassurances that we were actually going far and away above the norm of care for our little ones.
So the night was a success. Our boys had a BLAST and enjoyed a memorable night!

Seriously? On speed dial? Oy.
Can't wait to go to the movie myself. Will be wearing my dress robe, of course.
